Marisa holds a BBA degree from Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops (Economics major/Finance minor), as well as a certificate in environmental sustainability. While pursuing her BBA she participated in the 2016/2017 CFA Research Challenge, receiving second place overall. She has also volunteered with Enactus, the Bank of Canada Governors Challenge, and the Undergraduate Research & Innovation Conference. In 2017, she was the recipient of the UREAP Research Grant for her pursuit of research of commodities and the Canadian stock exchange, alongside Mohammad Mahbobi.
