Md. Saman Sohel is a distinguished academic and researcher specializing in health policy, environmental governance, and social development. He holds a Master of Public Policy from China , earning accolades such as a fully funded scholarship at Hohai University, where his thesis was recognized as the best thesis.
Currently a lecturer in the Department of Development Studies at Daffodil International University, Md. Sohel has founded multiple research organizations, including the Daffodil International University Research Centre for Advanced Research (CAR), and secured 1 million BDT in research funding. With 41 Scopus-indexed publications, including 20 in Q1 journals, he is a prolific researcher and a consultant for global organizations such as the World Bank and JICA.
He serves as the Executive Editor of the DIU Allied Health Sciences Journal and is an editorial board member for BMC Public Health and Discover Global Society, both published by Springer Nature. His research focuses on health inequalities, climate change impacts on health, and urban environmental migration.
Recognized for his contributions, he received the Young Researcher Fellowship and Best Teacher Award in 2024. Md. Sohel has presented his work at prestigious conferences in China, Turkey, Malaysia, and Bangladesh.
